The Role | Te tūnga

As a Community Research Interviewer working with Ipsos on a contractor basis, you will help ensure the voices of New Zealanders are heard. Our public policy surveys involve engaging with selected households and conducting scripted, in-person interviews (typically 30–45 minutes each).

All interviewers are engaged solely as Independent Contractors, operating their own schedule and managing their own working patterns. You have complete discretion over the hours you choose to work, the times you are available, and the volume of assignments you take on. Contractor payments are commission-based, linked to completed interviews.

While you work independently, Ipsos provides project briefings, access to necessary systems, and points of contact for questions. Regional field leads are available to offer general guidance on project requirements, but contractors retain full control over how they organise and carry out their work.

We are looking to engage contractors who are interested in working on long-running public-sector research projects that contribute to policy insights and service design across Aotearoa.

Hours and Renumeration | Moni utu

Interviewers are engaged as Independent Contractors and are paid on a per-interview basis. Earnings vary between contractors, projects, and regions. From time to time, project-specific rate uplifts may be available depending on survey requirements, location, or field conditions.

Contractors choose when and how they deliver survey services and decide how many interviews they wish to complete. Respondent availability may vary, and contractors determine their own approach to scheduling interviews in a way that suits their preferences and circumstances.

Ipsos incorporates a contribution toward project-related travel costs into its contractor payment model, which may vary by project and location. Ipsos supplies specialised survey equipment and materials where required to meet client data security and methodology standards. Contractors are responsible for organising their own schedules, travel arrangements, and approach to completing project assignments.
