Heni Tupe - Cultural Advisory & National Field Director
He wahine Māori nō Te Aupōuri, he uri hoki nō ngā iwi Pākehā me Ahitereiria, ko Heni Tupe tōku ingoa. My whakapapa sits across Māori, European and Australian Aboriginal lines, so I’m used to moving between different worlds. That experience shapes how I work every day, bringing together te ao Māori, corporate spaces, government priorities and community realities in ways that are both respectful and practical.
In my role as National Field Director and Cultural Advisor, I’m responsible for how our fieldwork operates, from expectations and quality standards through to the project guidance our contractors receive. I know this mahi can be demanding, busy households, unexpected situations, and the pressure to deliver high‑quality data. My focus is on making sure you have clear guidance on project requirements, the right tools, and a safe environment to carry out your mahi.
I don’t claim to know everything, and I see this kaupapa as a constant process of listening, learning and adapting. What matters to me is being honest, approachable, and open to kōrero about what’s working and what isn’t. To everyone on this journey, kanohi ki te kanohi and on the phone, ngā mihi nui, the way you show up in homes and communities, and the care you bring to each interaction, sits at the heart of the insights we provide.
I look forward to continuing this journey alongside you.
